Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Ron Schmeltzer, DC, graduated from State University at Stony Brook in 1977 with a B.S. in Biology. He received his doctorate degree at New York Chiropractic College in August 1981, Summa Cum Laude.
In December 1981, Dr. Ron opened his practice in Manhattan, N.Y. Within five years he had built the largest medical practice in New York City. His combined expertise in Chiropractic, Physio-therapeutics and Sports Injuries attracted professional athletes to his practice. Over time he became the chiropractor for the Goodwill Games and the NYC Marathon. He took care of the New York Knicks, Walt Frazier, Earl Monroe, and Micky Mantle sought out his services.
From the world of entertainment, Dr. Ron attracted a thriving clientele. Mel Gibson, Madonna, Andy Garcia, Ben Affleck, Al Jared, Philicia Rachad, Gloria Steinem, Raquel Welch, Linda Evans and David Cassidy all sought out Dr. Ron’s expertise. In addition he became the chiropractor for many elite dance companies: Martha Graham, American Ballet Theatre, and the Rockettes from the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.
Dr. Schmeltzer sought out mentors in the field. One of these was Dr. Williams, who is called “The Defender of Chiropractic”. Before he passed, Dr. Williams referred to Dr. Ron as the “Top Gun of Chiropractic”.
Dr. Ron has been a nationally recognized Chiropractic speaker and teacher for thirty-six years. He is a professional dedicated to expanding the public’s view of the chiropractic field. He was on the Board of Directors of Life Chiropractic University. Dr. Ron believes in giving back to the profession that has given him so much.
At 18 years of age, after 5 years of medical treatment, Ron was in agony. He lived with chronic pain. He had lower back pain, numbness in his right leg, and a frozen right shoulder. He suffered from allergies, asthma and headaches. In a state of desperation, he visited a chiropractor. The change was dramatic! The pain disappeared and Ron’s participation in athletics began. He became captain of a basketball team that went on to receive state and national honors. He ran marathons. Needless to say Ron’s live was transformed.
This experience became the motivation for Dr. Ron to pursue his doctorate in the Chiropractic field. Dr. Ron wants you to experience the personal transformation made possible as a result of his training over the last four decades in the chiropractic field. Chiropractic is not just a profession to Dr. Ron Schmeltzer, DC, it is his passion.
